Fifth Annual World Congress and Exposition on Disabilities
The World Congress & Exposition on Disabilities (WCD), a precedent-setting international conference and trade show, will take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, September 18-20, 2003. The WCD is an annual event intended to educate, inform and provide a useful exchange of ideas for persons with disabilities and special health care needs, as well as for those involved in their care and development. Supported by the National Institutes of Health, several leading corporations and national associations, the event is being produced by H.A. Bruno, LLC in conjunction with the EP Foundation for Education, Inc.
Opinion leaders in science, medicine, education, research, technology and product development will gather along with caregivers and families for an intensive learning experience focused on the needs of all people with disabilities. Uniting professional and consumer interests within one conference is a logical extension of the current health care climate. Increasingly, families and other caregivers are becoming extraordinarily well informed about all aspects of dealing with health care issues, especially those related to people with disabilities. They're putting together arsenals of knowledge with which to advocate and ensure the best care, treatment and advancement for people with disabilities and special health care needs.
In addition to scheduled educational programs, the event will provide an opportunity to examine the latest products and services from hundreds of exhibitors. These will include representatives of the pharmaceutical, financial services, computer, automotive, mobility, personal care and travel industries, along with those associated with nutrition, communication and publishing.
