General Information
Nickelodeon to Premiere New Series
Nickelodeon will premier a ground-breaking new series focusing on a child in a wheelchair who refuses to let his disability define him. Pelswick, which aired October 24th at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT), follows the daily life of the fearlessly funny title character who happens to be in a wheelchair.
The series was created by John Callahan, who has quadriplegia. Each episode focuses on how Pelswick confronts the issues that go hand-in-hand with growing up. The cartoon features Pelswick's colorful friends, including his two best friends Ace and Goon, and Julie, the girl of his dreams.
According to Callahan, "Kids will find that Pelswick, and by extension, other people with disabilities, are just people. They have friends, dreams, challenges, and frustrations just like anybody else. It's easy to relate to Pelswick because he faces real kid issues, such as fitting in and peer pressure."
