Travelers with Disabilities Are a Sizeable Market, Says 2002 Harris Report
People with disabilities can have a major impact on the travel industry—if more accessibility needs were met. A new Harris Interactive report find that Americans with disabilities spend roughly $13.6 billion a year on travel, and of that, $3.3 billion go to airlines and $4.2 billion to hotels. The study suggests that people with disabilities could spend more than $27 billion a year—a sizeable market.
