    The UMKC Institute for Human Development is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people of all ages with developmental disabilities and their families. As one of 60 University Affiliated Programs across the country, the Institute for Human Development:
    • Conducts interdisciplinary training to prepare professionals for leadership and direct service positions.

    • Conducts training and technical assistance in the community.

    • Assists in the the demonstration of exemplary services and supports in the community.

    • Conducts applied research and program evaluation.

    • Disseminates current print, video, and audio materials on specific disabilities or disability related topics.
