Community Career Connections

Whether it is a formal network of colleagues at work or an informal network of friends in the community at large, all of us look to society for some measure of acceptance,
growth, and development.

Likewise, all of us deserve the right to be supported in our efforts to establish these connections. The key to successful career planning for individuals with disabilities is thoughtful consideration of what it is the person likes to do.

*What are their dreams and aspirations?
*What are their interests and abilities?
*What motivates them and brings them joy?

By becoming gainfully employed and a contributing member of their local community, these individuals are given the opportunity to enjoy a productive,
inclusive, and fulfilling life that, for some, may result in a self-sufficient lifestyle.

The UCP Central PA Community Career Connections Supported Employment Program provides a wide range of support services, from helping the prospect complete a job application to interacting with the employer as needed.

These services include:
* vocational assessment
* career counseling
* job referral
* job development
* job coaching and ongoing support
* links to additional support and resources, including:
* assistive technology
* transportation
* financial advisors

We also take into account the location of the job site, transportation options, and other support needs of the prospective employee when planning for his or her employment.

In doing all this, we enable people with disabilities to have access to, and succeed in, competitive, meaningful employment.
