Individual Program Plans/Program Activities

The program activities are based upon individual program plans. These plans are developed from the Individual Habilitation Plan(IHP). Consumers work to meet their program goals and objectives in individualized sessions, small group activities and large group projects.

  • Gross and fine motor therapies are provided to a large number of consumers with physical disabilities as prescribed and/or recommended in the Individualized Program Plan.

  • Language programs include: basic needs of signing and gesturing to more sophisticated alternative modes of using language (i.e., augmentative communication devices) as a more successful social and informational tool.

  • Daily mealtime programs are carried out both for consumers with severe physical disabilities and profound cognitive disabilities who require a pervasive level of support. These programs include techniques to use to prevent choking and aspiration as well as teaching strategies to increase independence at mealtime.

In addition to improved communication, social intervention and adaptive therapy skills, the community experience trips are a vital part of consumer learning. Special services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, behavior management, speech therapy, assistive technology, adaptive therapy, nutritional services, psychology, nursing, social work, and other such specialty services as described in the Individual Program Plan.
