WHO WE ARE…Kids on the Block is a traveling puppet show that teaches children about coping with disabilities and accepting others who are different. This troupe of colorful, life-size hand-operated puppets represent a cross-section of a typical group of children, each unique in appearance and character.
The program subject matter is designed for second through fifth grade students. Audiences interact directly with the puppet characters during question and answer sessions in each program. This facilitates interaction and a feeling of intimacy between our "kids" and yours. Each performance is about 30 minutes in length. We prefer that students be seated on the floor.
HOW TO SCHEDULE A PERFORMANCE… The Kids on the Block Program is part of the National Kids on the Block, Inc. While there is no charge for performances, donations are greatly appreciated.
We are currently serving the counties of Andrew, Buchanan, Clinton, DeKalb, and Nodaway. Performances can be scheduled for schools, summer camps, and libraries as well as other community awareness events.
To schedule a performance for your school or organization, just call Glynda King at 816-364-3836 or toll free at 800-404-1844.
ANYONE CAN BE A PUPPETEER - ALL IT TAKES IS ENTHUSIASM! The Kids on the Block program at UCP of Northwest Missouri welcomes volunteers to be a part of this fun and exciting disability awareness program.
