Supported Employment's Guiding Principles
This program is committed to the following values:

  • All persons are valued program participants.
  • Participants are entitled to freedom of choice regarding the nature and extent of their participation in supported employment.
  • Participants have the right to earn a fair wage and contribute towards their own self-sufficiency and economic independence.
  • Participants can perform meaningful work when appropriate training and support services are available.
  • Services will be provided in the least restrictive environment.
  • Participants will be served by competent staff.
  • Employment Specialists advocate in facilitating successful employment and entry of participants into valued societal roles.
  • The program will enlist the support of family members and other professionals in meeting each participant’s employment objectives.
