Service Animals
Service animals or assist dogs come in all shapes and sizes. There are service dogs that help wheelchair users, hearing-ear dogs that filter the environment for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, guide dogs to navigate the world for their owners who are blind or have low vision, seizure alerts dogs to let the owners know when they are about to experience a seizure, and therapy dogs that can help people of all ages know what unconditional love feels like. There are also service dogs that may be dually trained for someone who is hard of hearing and a wheelchair user.
