Michael A. Burke, Sr.

Michael A. Burke, Sr. is Managing Director and Regional Manager of the Washington, D.C. office for Barclays Wealth where he is responsible for expanding the company’s presence in the DC metro and Mid-Atlantic regions. Before joining Barclays Wealth, he was Head of Deutsche Bank Alex Brown, the U.S. Private Client Services division of Deutsche Bank, overseeing 300 advisors in 16 offices, and a member of the board of directors of Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Burke worked at Morgan Stanley for 17 years, serving in several senior sales roles including Director of National Sales and Regional Director for the Southern U.S. Mr. Burke began his career as a Fixed Income Specialist at Smith Barney before becoming a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley. He holds a BS from Radford University.

A 25 year veteran of the securities industry, Michael has dedicated his time and efforts to a variety of charitable organizations with an emphasis on supporting those with disabilities and special needs. He has served as an investment committee member for the Foundation for the National Capital Region (formerly the Community Foundation of Greater Washington) and was a founding member of the Washington Committee for the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. Michael served a three year term on the Board of Achieve Tampa Bay, a UCP affiliate in Tampa Florida, before joining the UCP National Board of Trustees in 2006. In addition to serving on the Board, Michael also serves on the Finance, Investment and Development Committees of UCP.

Michael, his wife, Rosemary and their 6 children have personal experience with Cerebral Palsy. The youngest member of the Burke family, Joseph Patrick, has CP.
