Sign Rasha Kawar's Petition to Support Accessibility Rights!

Photo of Rasha Kawar and her mother, LailaRight now, a courageous young lady from Dallas is fighting for the accessibility rights of all people with disabilities. We encourage you to support her petition!

On a recent flight home from visiting her grandparents, Rasha Kawar was unable to use the small lavatory on the single-aisle plane. Because her mother was unable to help her in the cramped space, Rasha couldn’t use the restroom and was humiliated by the experience.

Frustrated and angry, Rasha courageously started a petition to challenge all airlines and to send a message that accessibility is a basic human right.

A third-grader at Cottonwood Creek Elementary in Coppell, Texas, Rasha Kawar is a Girl Scout, a cheerleader and is active in her community.

A member of our UCP family, Rasha has cerebral palsy and uses a motorized wheelchair for mobility. The assistive technology staff at UCP of Metro Dallas has encouraged Rasha to use her Dynavox communication device and is helping Rasha learn quicker ways to access her computer.
