UCP Meets BBB Charitable Giving Standards

Washington, D.C., February 28, 2002 — UCP (United Cerebral Palsy Associations, Inc.) is pleased to receive notice that it meets all 23 Charitable Better Business Bureau (CBBB) Standards for Charitable Solicitations. The standards cover fundraising practices, use of funds and solicitations, and information materials among other areas and serve as the basis for the BBB’s charity report. The UCP report is available on the BBB Wise Giving Alliance Web site.

UCP is one of the nation’s most efficient charities, with a system wide average of 85% of all revenues going to programs and services. UCP is comprised of 111 affiliates in 39 states who offer a broad array of programs and services for people with disabilities, such as employment services, early intervention programs, assistive technology training, individual and family support, social and recreation programs, community living, state and local referrals, employment assistance, and advocacy. 65% of the consumers served by UCP affiliates have disabilities other than cerebral palsy.
