Golf Event Estimated to Sport Over $60,000 for United Cerebral Palsy
Gulfport, MS, October 12-3, 1997—The annual "1997 Circle K/UCP Gulf Coast Classic" is being launched at the Grand Casino Gulfport Hotel in Mississippi on October 12th. The two-day event, sponsored by Circle K, Gulf Coast Region, a part of the national convenience store chain, is expected to raise over $60,000 to benefit the work of UCP affiliates in New Orleans, LA, Pensacola, FL, Baton Rouge, LA and Mobile, AL.
"The national commitment of Circle K from the top down has generated support in countless locations for United Cerebral Palsy affiliates throughout the country," said Paul T. Burke, National Director of UCP's Marketing and Development. "The work of Circle K managers, regional directors and innumerable staff to develop this golf tournament event in Gulfport has proved Circle K to be exemplary among America's businesses in supporting local UCP efforts to benefit children and adults with disabilities and their families."
Circle K Gulf Coast Region is hosting the event which consists of a golf tournament at Windance Golf Club, deep sea fishing chartered by Fiesta Charters and an Award Dinner Banquet with headline entertainer Mark Cordes. Taking the lead from Circle K are businesses that have joined the golf tournament to raise money for UCP, including Anheuser Busch, Inc, The Stroh Brewing Company, The Miller Brewing Company, Coca Cola, Very Fine/Promark, Coors Brewing Company, Motorola and "P.O.P." Sales and other organizations.
