UCPA Announces Its 1993 Annual Conference
Washington, DC, February 8, 1993—Commemorating the new leadership in our nation's capitol, the United Cerebral Palsy Associations, Inc., announces its 1993 Annual Conference and Meeting theme:
Celebration of Leadership. The conference, which focuses on making the voice of UCPA heard on Capitol Hill, will be held from Wednesday, April 28 to May 1, 1993 at the Radisson Plaza Hotel at Mark Center in nearby Alexandria, Virginia. Senators Ted Kennedy, Robert Dole, and Tom Harkin will brief local, state and national volunteers and staff on issues facing the 103rd Congress at a breakfast during the conference. Participants also will have an opportunity to attend sessions on advocacy topics such as health care reform, the budget and appropriations, and the reauthorization of the technical act.
The celebration of leadership continues with a salute to UCPA's Awards for Excellence. Also featured during the conference is UCPA's Annual Scientific Awards Banquet honoring those whose scientific research and leadership have significantly affected the lives of persons with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
