United Cerebral Palsy Associations, Inc., Announces Appointment of New Chief Executive

Washington, DC, September 21, 1999 - United Cerebral Palsy Associations’ President Charles H. Moses, III, Esq. announced today the selection of Kirsten A. Nyrop of the Washington, DC, area as the organization’s Executive Director. United Cerebral Palsy, which has more than 140 affiliates throughout the United States, is one of the nation’s leading health non-profits.

Ms. Nyrop, whose educational background includes an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and doctoral studies at both the University of North Carolina and George Washington University, has had extensive management experience in both the public and private sector. She has served as the lead executive for small entrepreneurial start-ups as well as large governmental agencies in her 20-year professional career.

Mr. Moses, in commenting on the appointment of Ms. Nyrop, said, “We are very, very happy to welcome Ms. Nyrop to the UCP family. United Cerebral Palsy Associations, like many of the nation’s major charities, is in the midst of a time of great change. As the needs of individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities continue to grow, we need a strong leader to help us prepare for the challenges and opportunities that will come with the new millennium. Ms. Nyrop’s background in organizational re-engineering, market analysis and strategic planning will enable us to meet our goals and objectives in an ever-changing health care environment.
