UCP Central PA one of the "Best Places to Work" in PA
UCP Central PA was recently honored as the number 19 Best Place to Work in PA at an awards dinner in Harrisburg, PA on November 29. The award, created last year by the Ridge-Schweiker Administration, is the first of its kind offered by a state.
The 100 Best Places to Work in PA program is made up of two groups of companies: 50 medium size companies (50-250 employees) and 50 large size companies (251 or more). This survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses.
A scientific survey was sent to the employers and the employees in which the data collected was used to rank the participating companies and determine the top companies. UCP Central PA was honored in the medium category.
The winners were chosen by the Great Place to Work Institute using the same formula as the Fortune "100 Best Companies to Work for in America." The companies were chosen based on the following criteria:
- must be a for profit or non-profit business
- must be a publicly or privately held business
- must have a facility in Pennsylvania
- must be in good standing with the Commonwealth's Attorney General and Pennsylvania Department of Revenue
In addition to the public/private partnership, Team Pennsylvania Foundation is a platinum sponsor, Marsh USA and HealthGuard are gold sponsors and Binney & Smith and Independence Blue Cross are silver sponsors of the program.
