Guidelines for Use

UCP of Pittsburgh wants the discussion board and bulletin board to be a safe, non-judgemental, and respectful area for all to speak out about the issues. To maintain this board as such, we have developed the following guidelines. Please read them carefully and observe them.

  • HARASSMENT:We invite individuals of all different backgronds, orientations and views to our web site and the bulletin board. Healthy debate and exchange of ideas and opinions are encouraged. We do not tolerate threats, abuse, hate speech, personal attacks and harrassment. If you disagree with a statement, please attack an idea, not the person. Post: "I think that's a stupid thing to say," instead of "You are a stupid person!"

  • VULGAR LANGUAGE: Many individuals find that certain words make them uncomfortable, so we ask that you refrain from using any obviously vulgar language.

  • BOARD DISRUPTION: We want you to enjoy the topics you came to find at our board. However, posts that include off topic subjects or small responses (ie. "me too") interfere with the flow of the discussion. Such posts may be removed at the board monitor's discretion.

  • CLASSIFIED, COMMERCIAL, or SOLICITING POSTS: Please don't post messages selling products or soliciting products or individuals. All posts of this nature will be removed without notice.

  • PROTECT YOURSELF: Please do not give out addresses, phone numbers or other private information that you do not want others to have. Remember that this discussion board/bulletin board is open to the entire World Wide Web.

  • POSTING PRIVATE E-MAIL: Please do not post e-mail that has been sent to you by someone else, unless you have permission. Messages that contain reposts of privately sent e-mail are subject to removal.

We will do our best to judge posts on their own merits and in context. However we do reserve the right to edit or remove any post for any reason. THESE GUIDELINES MAY BE REVISED AT ANYTIME WITHOUT NOTICE. PLEASE CHECK THE GUIDELINES REGULARLY FOR THE MOST CURRENT POSTING RULES.

Please enjoy our discussion board and bulletin board and please post!

Thanks,
Webmasters
