Description
Support agency efforts to coordinate and provide supports to individuals with disabilities and their families; assist with helping people to gain community access, contacts, as well as participating in community events, and creating natural relationships.
Requirements
General Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years experience working with people with disabilities and their families. Experience in advocacy and supervision is helpful. Safe driving record, and current vehicle liability insurance policy is required. Employees must meet all RI eligibility requirements for working with people with disabilities as set forth by the Attorney Generals Office.

The physical demands of this position are those representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Regularly required to use hands in order to handle, feel, objects, tools, and controls.
- Regularly required to reach with hands, and arms, and stoop, kneel, talk, and hear.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit.
- May be occasionally required to lift/transfer up to 50-70lbs, alone or occasionally up to 200lbs, with assistance of other staff or device.
Essential Job Responsibilities
The following are minimum requirements of the position:
- Providing assistance to enable people to accomplish activities of daily living such as: dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, medial issues, dietary & meal preparation, grocery shopping, banking, appointments, community activities, letter writing, paying bills, and relationship building.
- Providing support in fulfilling a person's interests in community integration, companionship, relationship building, through a variety of means requiring the use, on occasion, of various transportation such as a safe, reliable, and insured vehicle with a safe driver's record.
- Setting an example of advocacy within the community along with the supported person.
- Attending all required trainings/in-services throughout the year, plus those electives deemed necessary by the supervisor.
- Accurately filling out various paperwork in accordance with job situations.
- Maintain a positive, productive, team relationship with UCPRI management, and it's employees, taking on other duties as assigned by supervisor.
