Description
Under the direction of the Director of Children & Families Services Program, and in accordance with the policies of UCP of RI, Inc., provide in home direct care to children with disabilities and their families.

Requirements
SPECIAL NOTE: We are especially seeking a person with ASL skills.

General Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years experience working with people with disabilities and their families. Experience with training children and advocating for them will be helpful. Safe driving record and current vehicle liability insurance policy is required. Employee must meet RI eligibility requirements for working with disabilities as set by the Attorney Generals Office.

Essential Job Responsibilities
The physical demands of this position are those representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Provide in Home support/direct care to children and adolescents with disabilities and their families, to assist them in reaching therapeutic goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that all documentation and forms are completed accurate and timely, including but not limited to progress reports.
  • Provide assistance to enable children to accomplish goals and daily activities, which may include community activities.
  • May be occasionally required to lift and/or transfer up to 50lbs.
  • Attending all required trainings, in-services, and staff meetings throughout the year, plus those electives deemed necessary by the supervisor.
  • Accurately filling out various paperwork in accordance with job situations.
  • Maintain a positive, productive, team relationship with UCPRI management, and its employees, taking on other duties as assigned by supervisor.
