Young Professionals Board of UCP

In Fall 2007, UCP founded the Young Professionals Board (YPB) of UCP. These volunteers, who range in age from 24 to 35, believe that people with disabilities in south and central Alabama are entitled to live a life without limits. They are dedicated to helping UCP acheive its mission of advancing the independence of people with disabilities. Their focus is to serve as a progressive “think-tank” of young leaders in diverse professions. The Young Professionals Board works closely with UCP staff, the Board of Directors and the individuals who receive services from United Cerebral Palsy.

The Board is empowered to increase awareness, encourage involvement and financial support, advance program initiatives, and amplify the success of UCP. It is through their efforts that UCP is able to reach an entirely new audience within our community. Whether through production of wine tastings at Taste (on Old Shell Rd) or by way of fun outdoor events like UCP’s Annual Inshore Fishing Tournament, the Young Professionals consistently show their dedication toward helping others.
