UCP and Goldstein's Partner For A Jewel Of An Event

MOBILE, AL – Goldstein's Jewelry has signed on to partner with United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Mobile for its inaugural holiday diamond dig to be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008. The fundraiser will be promoted as Goldstein’s Holiday Diamond Dig to benefit United Cerebral Palsy presented by 106.5 The Pirate.

To explain the event, UCP will bury a $2,500 diamond ring under the infield dirt of field A (located at Memorial Park aka Cottage Hill Park). For a chance to find the treasure, female participants can buy a $20 dig pass that will provide a metal spoon and a dig ticket. Starting at 1 p.m., ladies can use their spoon to dig for the diamond. In addition to the grand prize, up to 15 other items will be buried, increasing one’s chances of walking away with a great gift. These items will range between free massages, restaurant certificates, movie passes, spa treatments, and more. The event’s presenting partner, 106.5 The Pirate, will host an on-air tickets giveaway contest beginning October 20th.

A full outline of the dig rules and prizes will be available (at a later date) on www.ucpmobile.org.

For those not participating in the dig, there will be arts and crafts, vendors, local artists, inflatable rides, face painting and activities for kids in the outfield. Gates open at 10:30 a.m. Admission is free. Donations are welcome.

Tickets are now on sale at United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile, located at 3058 Dauphin Square Connector. For more information about becoming a vendor or to order tickets, please contact Gina Johnson at 251.479.4900 or via e-mail at rjohnson@ucpmobile.org.
