United Cerebral Palsy of the Golden Gate, a provider of services to people with cerebral palsy and similar disabilities seeks energetic and outgoing Recreation Inclusion Specialists for part-time work providing one-to-one or small group care to children with disabilities in grades K through 5, in after school child care programs located in Alameda County.

Our newest team members will enjoy working with children in recreation settings, and be able to plan ways for children with disabilities to be include with all of the children in child care progam. You must have a high school diploma or GED. A bachelor’s degree in a human service field preferred. We are seeking people with a minimum of six months of direct, hands-on experience working with individuals with disabilities, or equivalent hands-on experience. The successful candidate(s) will be able to obtain criminal record clearance, pass post-offer medical examination, obtain CPR and First Aid certificates and have current TB (within six (6) months test and fingerprint clearance).

Job duties will include but are not limited to: providing direct support, guidance and facilitation to children, families, children’s friends and childcare center staff to facilitate full inclusion in recreation within childcare settings. Providing physical and hands on assistance to children such as feeding, lifting, transferring, wheelchair manipulation, etc. Services and supports are defined by the customer and his/her individual program plan.

We have great hours that are perfect for school personnel and college students; great pay and several positions will be open, ranging from $12 - $13 per hour. The position(s) are part-time in the afternoons, generally Monday -Friday: 3:00 - 6:00. Fulltime hours are available during school vacations and summer months.
