UCP Land of Lincoln Breaks Ground
United Cerebral Palsy Land of Lincoln held a groundbreaking ceremony for two accessible houses on Monday, August 11, 2008, at 4:00 p.m. The event will took place at the 130 N. 16th Street, construction site. The second construction site is located at 450 Maggie Drive. UCP submitted a grant to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in 2006 and was awarded funding to construct two accessible houses with a total of ten bedrooms. UCP will open the two homes in 2009. A special thank you to Judge Leo Zappa, Representative Richard Brauer, Representative Raymond Poe, Mayor Tim Davlin, Saul Morse, Mary Anne Holloway, Dr. Sherry Simmons, and Pete Cavanaugh for helping UCP break ground on the new homes.
