Union Painters Repaint Gymnasium

Tracey Painting Gymnasium at Reedswood School United Cerebral Palsy has a bright new look in their Reed Street Center thanks to a crew of union painters. The crew painted the gymnasium, stage, walks, ceilings, staircases, doors and windows. According to the former owners of the property, Joliet Grade School District 86, the building has not been painted in over 30 years.

According to Samuel Mancuso, President and Chief Executive Officer of United Cerebral Palsy of Will County,“Once again UCP is blessed to be the beneficiary of the wonderful talents and generosity of union labor. The exceptional quality of their work is evident throughout our buildings, particularly in the recently completed gymnasium project. The gym is now a bright and inviting multi-purpose room for all our clients to use for a wide range of physical activities, as well as for staging events, parties, school graduations, etc. In July, the gym was used to stage a community party to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the American’s With Disabilities Act.

UCP would like to thank all the vendors and businesses which made major donations to the project. We are especially grateful for the exceptional support and work of Bob Tracy of Tracy Painting and Decorating, who was instrumental in helping us secure the grant from the Industry Advancement Fund which funded the project. We also wish to thank Glen Fredericks, James Alberico, Andrew Cruz, Justin Malone, and David Figueroa. Their efforts not only represent the superior quality of union labor, but the community spirit and generosity of all unions and their membership.
