Medical Treatment
Early treatment is essential in order to effectively manage CP. Treatment may include different health care specialists, approaches and equipment. Management tools may include:

- Orthopedic Devices
Orthopedic devices like braces are used by many people with CP. These devices may aid movement and development and help prevent contractures. - Medications
Medications are sometimes used to treat conditions related to CP. For example, medication can help control seizures. Other drugs may help control muscle spasms and other symptoms. - Surgery
Surgery may be used in some cases. A surgeon may repair complications such as contractures or joint dislocations. Surgery to cut certain nerves may help make limbs less spastic.
