UCP of Central Maryland Hired Daskaloff to Head Development Department

UCP of Central Maryland has hired experienced fundraising and communications executive Debbie Daskaloff as its new chief development officer, where she will oversee the organization’s fundraising and marketing efforts.

Daskaloff brings many years of professional development and communications experience to her new position at UCP. She came to the organization from Union Memorial Hospital, where she served as assistant vice president for public relations/communications. Previously, Daskaloff was the executive director of the Howard Hospital Foundation for more than seven years. Highlights of this position include completing a $5 million capital campaign and raising more than $850,000 for Howard County General Hospital through the foundation’s annual Symphony of Lights project. She also served as assistant director of public relations, director of volunteer services and corporate projects administrator at Howard County General Hospital.

Daskaloff graduated from the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. In 2000, she received a certificate of completion in major gifts and capital campaign from the Madison Institute, an intensive program of the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy and the University of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Business.

In the community, Daskaloff served on the board of directors of ARC of Howard County, which inspired her interest to serve people with disabilities. She also chaired the Howard County Community Partnerships Board of the United Way and is a Class of 1995 Leadership Howard County Alumnus. In addition, Daskaloff is a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the Maryland Society for Healthcare Strategy and Marketing Development.
