UCP Michigan welcomes new executive director
Brockel is the former executive director of Legal Services National Technology Assistance Project (NTAP), and has served as executive director for Law Access New Mexico. She has a long history of advocacy for people with disabilities, including as an attorney with the Mental Health project at Advocates for Basic Legal Equality and as executive director of the AIDS Survival Project.
“Brockel has exceptional qualifications and experience leading advocacy organizations and protecting the rights of people with disabilities,” says Jackie Doig, UCP board president. “We look forward to her leadership at this time of tremendous challenge and opportunity for advancing independence and inclusion for people with disabilities.” Brockel earned a juris doctorate at Georgia State University College of Law and completed a bachelor of arts degree in communication and psychology at Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
