Leslynn Angel

Leslynn Angel is the President and CEO of United Cerebral Palsy of Metropolitan Detroit (UCP/Detroit). Ms. Angel has been employed with UCP/Detroit since 1992.

Ms. Angel’s involvement with UCP/Detroit has stretched to the national level as part of United Cerebral Palsy Association Employment Team, providing technical support to the Department of Labor funded One Stop to Success project. Prior to her current position she was Vice President of Programs where she was responsible for overseeing all programs at UCP/Detroit. In addition she was the coordinator of the Social Security funded Benefits Planning Assistance and Outreach Project, Rehabilitation Renaissance Project and Coordinator for the UCPA Choice Access Project in Detroit, MI.

Over the years, Ms. Angel has worked successfully at assisting individuals with significant disabilities find employment in their communities, using the Choice Access Model. Her experience includes training Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, and vendors, by introducing choice-based philosophies and technology into the vocational rehabilitation system. Ms. Angel has also worked directly with customers in facilitating Person Directed Plans, and addressing issues around customer choice.
