Meet the Staff

Pat Dwelle

Pat is the proud parent of an adult son with disabilities and truly has first-hand, personal experience to share via her professional role with UCP/Metro Detroit. Pat has been advisor on behalf of her son for his part in various education, employment, vocational and community programs.  Pat has spent a significant amount of time navigating systems over the past 30 years on her son's behalf.

Pat has been employed at UCP/Detroit since 1993.  For the past 15 years she has worked as an Advocate, Project Coordinator for "Parents Are Experts" in Wayne County, Secretary for Project Ramp, and currently, coordinator for UCP's QuickRamps Project for Kids.  She also oversees the UCP support group. 

Pat also serves on several committees including Michigan Alliance for Families, Wayne County Head Start and Oakland County CMH Transportation Committees and has participated in many focus groups. Pat says she has a firm belief independence and inclusion for all. To that end, she is dedicated to serving persons with disabilities, their families and professionals on their behalf.
