Closkey Burns produces CD

Longtime Adult Special Needs Program consumer Closkey Burns recently completed his first CD of popular songs. Mr. Burns, a resident of Bayonne, NJ, has always enjoyed singing and will provide entertainment at any and all UCP of Hudson County events. Local Executive Initiates Drive To Keep Saturday Transportation Services Operational

During the recent VIP Breakfast sposnored by UCP of Hudson County, a number of parents of consumers who part take in the Saturday Program for individuals with developmnetal disabilities expressed concern that the anticapated end of the Saturday Transportation due to lack of funding would create a hardship on their loved ones. John Hogan, President of Welcome Parking, Inc. was so moved that he reached out to his fellow executive throguhout the area to solicit funds in order to keep this program up and running. The response was overwhelming and UCP of Hudson County is greatful to Mr. Hogan and his friends for their generous contributions.

Cosi-Newport Hosts The Growing Tree II Learning Center Families

On Monday, October 18, 2010, Cosi-Newport Restaurant located at 535 Washington Street, Jersey City, NJ played host for the UCP Of Hudson County's Growing Tree II Learning Center's Family Night. This event gave the parents of the Growing Tree II children the opportunity to meet and socialize with one another. Cosi-Newport also donated 10% of the evenings proceeds to The Growing Tree II Learning Center and UCP of Hudson County. The Growing Tree II Learning Center is locate at 160 Fifth Street in Jersey City. UCP of Hudson County Celebrates National Direct Support Professionals Week

On Friday, September 17, 2010, UCP of Hudson County held a ceremony to recognized the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) of UCP of Hudson Countys Adult Special Needs Program (ASN) in North Bergen, NJ as part of National Direct Support Professionals Week. Keith J. Kearney, UCP of Hudson Countys Associate Executive Director, on behalf of the Board of Trustees and staff of UCP of Hudson County, thanked the DSPs and their administrators for their commitment to the participants of the ASN program.
