Assistive Technology
Equipment Reuse (Changing Hands)
Changing Hands: Giving new life to used equipment and enhancing the life of another all at the same time.
Introducing Changing Hands… a different kind of recycling program. At Changing Hands, our goal is to provide restored, refurbished, and recycled
home medical equipment and assistive technology devices to individuals who are unable to obtain the necessary equipment through other means.
How Does it Work?
If you or others you know have a need for home medical equipment or assistive technology but have limited insurance coverage or limited financial resources, you may be able to get what you need through the Changing Hands recycling program. All our recycled equipment is provided to the user free of charge.
What Equipment?
At Changing Hands, we restore and recycle a variety of home medical equipment and assistive technology devices. The term Assistive Technology refers to a wide range of devices and aids that give seniors and individuals with disabilities greater mobility, control, and/or independence.
A partial listing of the types of equipment and devices we recycle includes, but is not limited to:
• walkers
• bath seats and toilet seats
• manual/power wheelchairs
• daily living aids (such as items for eating and dressing)
• over-the-bed tables
• telecommunication equipment
• assistive listening devices
• blind/low vision aids
If you have home medical equipment or an assistive technology aid that has served your purpose... but it still has a lot of life left in it… we invite you to consider making a donation to Changing Hands.
