Outpatient Therapy Services

Through Outpatient Therapy, UCP of Huntsville and Tennessee Valley provides therapeutic evaluations and intervention for individuals of all ages. Through Children’s Therapy Services, UCP provides pediatric physical and occupational therapy as well as speech therapy. These services are provided in the UCP center located on Max Luther Drive.

Children's Therapy Services offers quality services to infants, children, and adolescents and serves clients with over 150 different diagnoses, including sports-related injuries.

While similar facilities may treat young clients using a "mini-adult" mindset, Children's Therapy Services offers age-appropriate services and does not have "mini-adult" expectations for children and adolescents.

Children's Therapy Services is the only PT/OT service in Huntsville staffed exclusively with therapists who have specialized training in pediatrics:

Andrea Batt, PT, PCS

  • Board Certified Pediatric Specialist
  • MOVE and Cascade Certified
  • 20+ years pediatric experience

Cheryl Ramos, Doctorate of Physical Therapy

  • Board Certified Physical Therapist
  • Proficient in American Sign Language
  • Bachelor's of Education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (11 years teaching experience)

Janet Taylor, OTR/L

  • Certified Infant Massage Instructor
  • Trained in Beckman Oral Motor Protocol
  • 20+ years pediatric experience

Debbi Dunbar Daniel, OTR/L

  • Certified in Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Treatment
  • Trained in Sensory-Integration
  • 30+ years pediatric experience

Julie Yockel, MS,CCC-SLP

  • Certified in the Beckman Oral Motor Treatment Program
  • AAC Specialist
  • 15+ years pediatric experience

Kristi Barney, MA, CCC-SLP

  • Certified in the Prompt technique for motor speech disorders
  • Trained in Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)

What sets us apart from other providers:

  • GaitRite gait analysis system offers computerized, detailed gait analysis
  • Partial weight bearing/treadmill gait training system
  • Hands-on treatment approaches and family education
  • On-site fabrication of splints/shoe inserts/casts as part of a therapy program
  • Use of neuromuscular taping and electrotherapy techniques for re-education/support of injuries
  • Longstanding collaboration with the community (i.e. local school systems, Early Intervention and State Children’s Rehab Services, local physicians and orthotists, etc.)
  • Adaptation/help with acquiring equipment as necessary
  • Access to other UCP services provided for clients and their families
  • Medicaid, All Kids, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and most other commercial insurances accepted
  • Easy access to our building; no parking garages or meters
