Children and Youth

Everyone In

UCP has developed a pilot service for making it possible for children with cerebral palsy and similar disabilities to attend local after school programs!

Brad Griffith, Child Care Supervisor for Friendship Center, City of Albany; Will Glasser and Ashley Tatro, UCP’s Recreation Inclusion Specialist.

NEW PROGRAM

Children with CP and similar disabilities will be supported by aides and recreation specialists to help them have fun with friends and actively participate in all after school activities.

WHEN

Services are available Monday to Fridays after school. Full time and part time days can be accommodated. We are accepting enrollment NOW!

WHO PAYS FOR THIS?

The parent pays for the after school program. Many child care programs offer sliding scale fees for lower income families. UCP contracts with the Regional Center to provide the aide and recreational support.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You locate the child care center with a vacancy and enroll your child. UCP can help you with this if needed. We also help you contact your Regional Center case manager to join the program and discuss transportation options. UCP will arrange for your child to be supported in the local child care center with their friends and neighbors.

GREAT, I AM INTERESTED!   HOW CAN I GET THIS SERVICE?
