Pete's Fund

Pete's Fund assists people with disabilities and their families with small cash grants to help fund expenses related to their disability that have no other source of funding. Only certain designated expenses are covered.

This fund was set up by the UCP Board of Directors to assist people with disabilities and their families with cash grants to help fund expenses related to disability that have no other source of funding. The fund honors the memory of a young man named Peter Horton.

The type of designated expenses that the fund can help provide for are: adaptive equipment, diapers, specialized infant formulas, critical medications, inclusionary camps experiences, burial expenses, swim program scholarships and emergency respite.

How Does It Work?
Upon contacting UCP with a funding request, a simple application is sent out that outlines the reason for the request and the amount of funding needed. A committee reviews the application and decides whether monies will be granted based on need, merits of the request and attempts to acquire matching or other funding. They also determine the amount to be granted based on a cap amount for each category. The committee chair will contact the applicant on the decision and make any arrangements needed.

Who Is Eligible?
People with developmental disabilities and their families are eligible to apply. The request must fall into the categories noted above to be considered.

How Do I Apply?
The person, family member or case manager can call for more information, and to request the application form.
