Behavioral Health Treatment Services

OUTPATIENT THERAPY
This is a service directed at assisting children and adults with maintaining positive emotional, behavioral, and psychological health. This service is provided by a licensed clinician in clinical setting at the agency. Therapy can be provided in individual, family, or group format. We specialize in pervasive developmental disorder (PPD)/autism, behavioral health disorders, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma, play therapy and family therapy. We can help with:

  • Individual counseling (children & adults)
  • Substance abuse counseling
  • Couples counseling
  • Group therapy
  • Life changes (death, divorce, moving, homelessness, loss of job, or any other major changes in life)

HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
This program services children with a mental health diagnosis, PDD/autism, and cognitive delays. We provide a team of behavioral health professionals and a clinician in the home and/or community to improve family functioning and quality of life.

FORT JAMES HOUSE Fort James House is a six-bed, short-term, residential facility designed for children with a mental health diagnosis who need an out-of-home placement or transitional living space. Fort James House is located in Old Town and provides children and their families with support, guidance, and structure from direct care, counseling, and administrative professionals. Through emotional regulation, social integration and daily living activities, children are assisted in learning healthy social skills and behaviors to help them be successful upon return to their home environment.

YOUTH & FAMILY HOMELESS/AT RISK PROGRAM This is a service offered to individuals and families that are homeless or at risk or being homeless.
We provide assistance with:

  • Finding housing, filling out employment applications
  • Obtaining benefits like MaineCare, Social Security Income, etc.
  • Scheduling, time management, budgeting
  • Referrals for case management
  • Connection to area resources

Our services are offered in Hancock, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
