Standish Village Assisted Living Program
Located in Dorchester, UCP’s program is an innovative model of supporting older individuals with disabilities who choose t live in an assisted living facility. Individuals are provided additional supports through UCP, which are not available to them through the typical assisted living model of services. Through UCP’s assistance individuals rent their own unit and are eligible to participate in all the activities and services of the building. UCP provides additional staffing and case management support to assist the participants with personal care needs, goal development, accessing their community, and maintaining their household. Many of the participants of this program continue to attend a day habilitation, day activity, or work program during the day. Funding for this program is provided through the Department of Mental Retardation and the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission.
