On-Site Facilities

The UCP Children's Program offers many opportunities for children and families to grow and explore together! Families may have an adventure on the high seas at UCP’s outdoor therapeutic play area calle "The Sea", or dive deeper into our sensory motor room called "Under the Sea". We invite you to relax and take in the colors, sounds and vibrations in our room called the "Snoezelen Space". If you find something you like, perhaps you can take it home through our therapeutic equipment lending program.

The facilities and equipment at UCP allow our therapists and teachers to introduce and model concepts and equipment that can be beneficial to your growing child.

THE SEA
The Sea is our accessible outdoor play area that provides a safe place for exploration. Outdoor sensory experiences allow young children to learn about the world including sunlight, shadow, wind, and textures such as tall wavy grass. Large muscles are stimulated by crawling through tunnels, playing hide & seek in tall grass, learning how to ride a tricycle or other vehicle. Imagination is expanded through play experiences, water, playground, and an outdoor art easel.

UNDER THE SEA
Under the Seas is our sensory motor room designed to stimulate the overall development of a child while encouraging fun and exploration. The room includes specialized swings, a climbing wall that can be used at an angle, full support ride on toys, and much more that can spark the imagination of a child, encouraging him or her to use and develop skills that are challenging to him or her.

SNOEZELEN SPACE
Our Snoezelen Space is a multi-sensory environment that provides learning and exploration opportunities for children who have limitations in movement, vision, hearing and perceptual challenges. The Snoezelen experience provides opportunities to make choices, learn cause and effect through an interactive bubble tube and interactive fiber optics, experience music through a large vibration cushion, stimulate the sense of smell through aromatherapy and much more!

EQUIPMENT & RESOURCE LENDING LIBRARY
A large number of therapeutic items are available for your family to borrow for short term use in your home. This program allows you to try various items that may provide support to your child or enhance his/her development. Find out more about the UCP Equipment and Resource Lending Library.
