UCP Foundation of Central PA

In addition to continuing to serve people of all ages and all disabilities throughout Central Pennsylvania, the need for UCP programs and services will be even greater among four key segments of the population in the years ahead:

  1. premature and low birth weight babies with physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities
  2. individuals who acquire a disability as a result of accident or illness
  3. expanding population of seniors who are "aging into disability"
  4. individuals with autism

In order to continue to meet these pressing future needs, the UCP Foundation of Central PA was established in 2006. It shares with UCP Central PA both its mission and its vision to serve the community for generations to come.

The UCP Foundation of Central PA has identified several preliminary needs in the community as potential uses of the resources and donations it receives. These include:

  • Expand services for children and adults with Autism.
  • Anticipate and address the unmet and evolving needs of individuals with disabilities in the Central Pennsylvania community.
  • Provide much needed support for unfunded or underfunded programs, including Youth Programs and the Assistive Technology Reutilization Program.
  • Expand community home and supported living programs.
  • Provide the necessary resources that will enable us to maintain the quality level of services and supports the community has come to expect from UCP.
  • Enable UCP to remain at the forefront of service providers through the implementation of new technology and service delivery models for people with disabilities.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the individuals, couples, families, and businesses who have supported the mission of UCP through a contribution to the UCP Foundation of Central PA Family & Friends Endowment Campaign, which began in 2007. For a list of contributors, click here.
