History
United Cerebral Palsy of South Carolina (UCPSC) was founded in 2003. A group of concerned citizens with a vision of cradle-to-grave community based supports to meet the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families were instrumental in the formation of UCPSC. These citizens recognized a need in their state for greater choice in services for those with developmental disabilities, and UCPSC was born.
UCPSC is developing under the guidance and direction of UCP of Georgia and UCP of South Florida, both longstanding UCP affiliates. This arrangement allows UCPSC to focus our early energy primarily on directly meeting the needs of individuals receiving services and less on setting up administrative support functions such as accounting and human resources.
