Celebrity Banquet
United Cerebral Palsy’s 24th Annual Celebrity Banquet and Auction was incredibly successful and raised $73,000 to support UCP’s programs and services. Dozens of local celebrities delivered food, drinks and entertainment to over 200 guests while raising funds for UCP.
Throughout the bidding, a good time was had by all as distinguished guests shared their dance moves with the donated Wii gaming system.
The evening program began with a heartfelt welcome by United Cerebral Palsy’s executive director, Camilla Rucinski. Mandi Kuter, a parent whose child receives services from UCP’s Birth to 3 program, then followed with her family’s gratitude for UCP programs, staff and the direct impact they have had on her son’s life.
Led by Dan Smith of Triangle Media Works, emcee for the evening, this years celebrity servers included television news and radio personalities, community figures and other well-know Madisonians. The UW athletes weren’t the only ones sporting a good time that night as celebrities ran with the festive energy in the room to come up with new and creative ways to raise tips for UCP ranging from innovative athletic competitions to trivia and sing-alongs.
As the signature fundraiser for UCP, the Celebrity Banquet is fundamental to the continued service of over 1,400 individuals in our community every year. It is thanks to the support of our celebrity servers, the sponsors for the evening, our numerous volunteers and guests, that UCP carries on the tradition of support for the children, youth and families we serve throughout our community.
