Transportation
UCP Michigan knows that people with disabilities face many barriers to transportation. We work to address these barriers and to eliminate as many as possible so that people with all disabilities can participate in their communities.
Through a grant from the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council, UCP Michigan is developing and compiling information to teach people about transportation issues and services. UCP Michigan is also working to help RICCs and other local groups learn how to advocate for better transportation. See the All Aboard! Michigan Transportation Advocacy Project page for more information.

Through a grant from the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging, United Cerebral Palsy of Michigan prepared a report on The State of Senior Transportation in Michigan. The purpose of the project is to comprehensively study and report on transportation programs serving Michigan residents age 60 and older to determine whether and where there are gaps in services and where improvements are needed. The study identifies transportation for seniors in every Michigan county, identifies gaps in transportation for seniors, and makes recommendations to improve the ability of Michigan seniors to remain actively involved in their communities through access to transportation services.
